ZAPP Opens New Facility Hopes To Address The Horrific Pet Overpopulation In Mexico

Right now in Mexico, thousands and thousands of dogs and cats roam the streets seeking food and shelter, most dealing with serious disease, starvation, heat exhaustion and eventually, death. In the past in San Felipe, if strays were caught they were electrocuted. Now, because of ZAPP, if caught strays are euthanized, it must be by sedation.

To further address the issue, ZAPP has officially opened a new facility in Mexico that has an open door policy. Officials that used to take strays straight to their death, now drop the animals at the ZAPP door where they receive treatment and more.

Malea McGuinness – Musician & Animal Rights Advocate

Here at PETSblogs we love music nearly as much as we love animals. If you’ve ever seen the Sarah McLachlan video for the ASPCA and been moved to tears (or having to turn the channel because you just can’t take seeing any more of the instances of animal cruelty it shows) you know what we mean. It’s a good thing when celebrities can use their fame and fortune to help promote animal rights and place the issue in the spotlight.

We recently discovered Malea McGuinness, a pop/rock singer-songwriter who’s been an extremely active animal rights advocate and we wanted to introduce other pet-lovers to her music and her mission!
