Affordable Mini-Vacation Ideas for You and Your Four-Legged Friend

0

During this last year, it has been tough to comfortably venture outside your home and make travel plans. Traveling can also easily push the budget, but there is no denying that it’s enjoyable to be able to splurge on your pet with a fun excursion once in a while! In fact, 62% of Americans would give up an expense for their pet according to this survey.

However, there are a few ways to safely travel with your pet when you need a bit of a break and a change of view.

Here are four simple ways to travel with your furry companion while staying within your budget!

  1. Go on a camping excursion: If the weather persists, camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while staying safe. Finding a campsite that is wide open with nearby hiking trails not only lets your pup run free but can help you reset.
  2. Go on a mini-road trip: If you and your pet like a bit of an adventure and the open road, going on a road-trip to the beach or nearby national park is a great idea. All it takes is just a bit of planning and research!
  3. Stay-cation: Needing a little break from your home? Try looking into nearby pet-friendly rental properties to stay at for the weekend. These can be fairly affordable, especially if you do a grocery trip beforehand to cook you and your pet’s favorite meals.
  4. Turn your home into a resort: Not interested in leaving your home quite yet? Plan out a weekend and create your own vacation experience right at home. Even giving your pet its own spa-resort treatment is a great way to treat your pet while staying safe. If you live in an area with an abundance of neat outdoor activities, it is a perfect time to try a walking tour!

Traveling with your pet can sometimes be a daunting activity, but planning out your trip with easy-to-do activities can be gratifying and fun for you and your special friend!
