Fun Activities To Do With Your Dog This Summer

0

Summer is the best time of the year for getting outside and spending some time with the ones who mean the most to you, and that includes your pets. The sun is out, the weather is nice, and it’s the perfect time to do something fun. Here are a few fun activities to do with your dog this summer.

Go on a Hike

If your dog is as energetic and adventurous as you are, you may want to consider taking it on a hike. It’s a great time to bond and see the sights, and your dog will love all the new sounds and scents. Physical stimulation and exercise are essential to your pet’s well-being, but equally so is mental stimulation since a mentally stimulated dog is a happy one. On top of this, a hike is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your bond and test your pup’s training and commands.

Take a Dip in the Pool

If your dog likes to swim, taking a dip in the pool is one of the most fun things you can do together this summer. Yes, you will have to bathe your wet dog afterward, but it’s worth it when you can see just how happy it is. To make sure it’s content and safe, investigate what chemicals are in the pool water. Unfortunately, some chemicals are not as pet-friendly as others. Haven Spa Pool and Hearth has a great article about the most common pet-safe chemicals for your pool. These chemicals are OK on your dog’s skin, and they’re safe if it accidentally ingests some.

Go Camping

Much like the hiking point, taking your dog on a camping trip is an excellent way for it to experience the outdoors with you by its side. Whether you’re in a tent, a cabin, or an RV, going on a camping trip with your dog will be fun. There are also many outdoor-specific activities you can engage in when camping, such as swimming in the lake, kayaking, and sitting by the campfire.

Cozy Up and Watch a Movie

The summer is a fun time to go out and do things, but it can also be hot and humid. Instead of taking your dog out, spend an evening indoors hanging out and relaxing together. Throw on a movie without loud action that will scare it and pet it the whole time. It deserves it, and it will surely be thankful for the attention.

These are a few of the fun activities to do with your dog this summer, but there are many more you can do as well. The main thing you need to focus on is taking care of your pet’s needs. Give it some time and attention and make it feel loved, and you will surely receive some love in return.
