Spring has finally arrived in all of it’s beauty! I love this time of the year because it seems like a new beginning. I sit out on my porch and listen to all the birds sing, squirrels romp and bunnies play.
I love to get on my hands and knees and dig in the dirt to plant vegetables but mostly to plant the flowers. I have several places that I do plant flowers and my favorite place is a wonderful flower bed built into the house by the front door. That is the place everyone coming to visit is greeted with all the flowers.
I recently perused the U.S. government’s official web portal where the notifications section gives the general public easy access to a variety of updates. As I was reading over the…
(Washington, D.C. – December 22, 2010) Yankees and Red Sox. Leno and Conan. Rosie and Donald Trump. While some rivals may never get along, life occasionally throws us for a loop and unlikely species form amicable bonds. In the animal kingdon. there are some relationships that truly defy the natural order and demonstrate an “evolution” that might astound Darwin himself.
On Friday, January 7, 2010 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the National Geographic Channel celebrates peace in the new year by traveling the world in search of nature’s oddest couples in a gresh installment of Unlikely Animal Friends 2. At a wildlife rehabilitation center outside of Atlanta, Ga., a lion, tiger and even a bear live harmoniously together. The trio of animals were rescued as cubs and raised as brothers. While each has his own dynamic personality and his own set of lethal weapons, the three eat, play and sleep together. The situation doesn’t go without concern. As Craig Saffoe, acting curator of lions and tigers at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, explains, “I wouldn’t advocate sticking a bear in the middle of a group of big cats. However, for these individuals, it certainly seems like the most responsible action for them and their welfare, their quality of life, would be to leave them as the are; they’re bonded.”
(Washington, D.C. – December 22, 2010) From the bizarre to the elusive to the downright deadly, throughout his career herpetologist Dr. Brady Burr has risked life and limb to study some of the fiercest creatures on the planet – but never with technology like this. Armed with new technology, Brady is back with a new season, on a new network, as his Dangerous Encounters take him around the globe in the name of science and conservation.
Moving to Nat Geo WILD beginning Tuesday, January 4 at p p.m. ET/PT, Dangerous Encounters returns with five all-new episodes. Brady gets up close and personal with a monster fish’s lethal snout, puts three of the most aggressive shark species to the test to find out which has the deadliest bite and takes on one of the world’s deadliest snakes using a high-tech robot. And later in the season, Brady captures a massive croc that has terrorized a village in Africa, possibly killing dozens of people, and employs a powerful net gun to capture a two-ton hippo.

Carrie, a golden retriever, is better known as La Perrita Bailaria at home in Chile. She not only dances but goes trick-or-treating on her hind legs in full costume. She can turn on and off lights, open and shut doors and is certainly a local celebrity.
Jose Fuentes is her dancing partner and would love nothing more to entertain the world with their unique dance routines.
