Devoted pet owner and now, devoted pet editor, Judi worked in traditional offices, keeping the books and the day-to-day operations organized. Taking her dog to work every day for over a decade never seemed odd. Neither did having an office cat. She knows what it's like to train a new puppy and she's experienced the heartache of losing beloved companions. Retired, she currently lives with her spoiled dog and four chickens (who are, interestingly enough, also spoiled).

How To Make Hummingbird Food

hummingbird wingsI adore hummingbirds. They’re such pretty little creatures to have fluttering around the yard. Every Spring I look at the old note I have stuck to the inside of our recipe cabinet to remind myself of the right sugar to water mix ratio before I make the first batch of food and set the feeders out again. So today I thought I’d share the hummingbird food recipe and how I make a batch.

I’m also including some of my favorite pictures, my favorite place to buy hummingbird feeders, and what I do to keep the feeders clean and nicely filled all Spring, Summer, and Autumn.

Scent Of The Missing Giveaway

I’ve been reading Susannah Charleson’s Scent of the Missing and I’m happy to announce that the publisher has not only sent me the copy I’ve been reading, but 5 additional copies to be given away to you, the readers.

From the moment I started reading the first page of the first chapter I’ve been captivated . . . as much by Susannah’s writing as by the story itself. I’m not going to post a personal review today, simply because I haven’t finished the book. But I wanted to go ahead and open up the giveaway so that we can begin selecting and sending copies to the winners!

However is it essential to do the same for our pets? Some would say this is a ridiculous idea but for others it may actually be a worthwhile procedure.
